My Winter-Summer Dress

Published by - Quillkeepers Press

Arms stretched wide toward the sun,
I feel its warmth on my cheeks.

My navy blue, short summer dress
catches the wind,
along with my dirty blonde hair.

The snow beneath my feet
has already numbed my skin.

Now, the coldness slowly seeps
deep within my bones. And stays.

What I portray to the world
in my navy blue, short summer dress
is a dichotomy of what lives inside me
deep within my bones.
